The Da Ignazio restaurant is in the heart of the S. Polo sestiere, in
Calle dei Saoneri, near the Casa Goldoni. It was opened in 1951 and has
always been managed by the Scroccaro family.
Guests are welcomed into two fine rooms ranged around an internal courtyard
with garden and pergola, once used to play bocce and where it is now possible
to dine in good weather.
The offering is mainly of fish, in the finest Venetian traditions, always
fresh and chosen according to season, served with freshest seasonal vegetables.
There are also meat dishes as an alternative, first courses of fresh,
homemade pasta, house desserts and a vast selection of cheeses with various
conserves.
The wine cellar has about 300 white and red wines, champagnes and dessert
wines, and a wide range of grappas, whiskies, Cognacs and liqueurs.
