This comfortable, intimate restaurant, with seating inside for 30, is
just a few steps from the Accademia, facing the Giudecca canal right in
front of the Mulino Stuky. Here you can savour the delights of Venetian
cuisine presented with refinement and attention to detail, in a balance
between tradition and innovation.
Monica and Luca, the young owners, invite you to savour their specialities
on the splendid terrace (seating for 50) at the Zattere from the very
first sunny days of January. This is a part of Venice where peace reigns
supreme all year round, which is why it is the preferred destination of
many show business people, a dreamlike setting where wonderful sunsets
can be enjoyed on warm summer nights.
The restaurant is in the rooms of a prestigious building dating from 1681,
the old Scuola dei Luganegheri (sausage producers’ association),
whose patron, St Anthony, is portrayed in a big statue above the main
entrance.
The fare is both simple and refined. Monica, in charge of cooking, loves
to combine new season’s vegetables with fish that is always strictly
fresh. She changes the menu at least four times a year and is backed up
by a very small team, allowing her to make her own bread, pasta and desserts.
Luca takes care of the wine accompaniments; he is both an expert and passionate
about wines and good oil.
